Denise Lionel

Born in Paris, 14ème district, Denise began to paint in the 90’s

She has presented at the competition of the Caza Velasquez, having studied two years in the academy: The great cottage, realising nudes according to models. She has studied animal morphology in the zoos, and met a great number of European and Parisian artists with whom she has exchanged ideas.

Denise lived and travelled in Spain for two years, visiting the main museums and parks, discovering her Spanish parental roots. Leaving Spain for N-Y for a brief stay, she visited the city and suburbs environment’s, showing her canvases in streets like Spring Street and talking with many people, realising friendships with buyers and artists.

Returning to Paris she immediately resolved to return to the USA and began to save and make some preparations. After two years she was ready to fly and settled in California for four years. Three months after after her arrival in the USA she began to study at the San Francisco School of Art under the direction of Bruce Tessler. She graduated after two years with a BA , above average. She sold her arts works on Market Street, arts spaces and exhibitions.

Returning to France, Denise has many good memories of those years and their moments.
